One of our most visible functions is to groom the trails at Riverside Golf Course. We are always recruiting for dedicated volunteers to help out. If you have experience operating machinery and feel you have the right aptitude for this important task, please consider becoming a volunteer trail groomer.
Board Committee Members
Specific positions coming soon – stay tuned!
If you are interested in promoting our organization, and you are willing to commit to and champion Portland Nordic board priorities, consider becoming a board committee member.
Coaching is not only one of our biggest needs, but it is also one of the most rewarding ways you can help our programs succeed. You don't need to be a pro to provide guidance and instruction for the young skiers in our program. Coaches help our skiers perfect their technique while having fun, and when the coach-to-skier ratio is low, practices are more enjoyable for all. Whether you can commit to weekends, weekdays, one, two, or three days per week, we'd love to have you out on the trails with us.
Kick and Glide
Our annual fundraising event, Kick and Glide, requires a dedicated team of volunteers to run smoothly each year. Prior to the event, volunteers may assist with marketing and communications, auction item procurement, sponsorship outreach, and logistics. For a short term commitment, consider helping out on the day of the event. We need volunteers to help with the set-up and clean-up, sell tickets and swag, greet guests, and help run the auction.
Occasionally, Portland Nordic will serve as a race host as part of our youth programming. Volunteers are needed to make sure the event runs smoothly for all participants, which includes skiers from other local schools and clubs. On the day of the event, volunteers will help set up and break down the course, ensure that the start and finish areas run smoothly, assist with timing, and sweep the course behind the last skier in each race.
